This Crown Kettle is Brand New, old stock. It was acquired from a local school system and was delivered to the school but was never hooked up or placed in service. We hooked it up to test the functionality and all checks out 100%.

Description:

The Crown 40-Gallon Natural Gas Stationary Steam Kettle is a high-output solution for industrial kitchens, and large-scale catering facilities requiring massive batch consistency. With a 40 gal. capacity, this gas-powered unit utilizes a 2/3 steam jacket to provide uniform heat across the vessel, preventing the hot spots and scorching. The interior is lined with 316 stainless steel, a premium material specifically chosen for its superior resistance to high-acid foods and salt, ensuring long-term durability in heavy-use environments.

Equipped with a 100,000 BTU burner system, the kettle features electronic ignition and a direct immersion thermostat for precise heat oversight. Safety and monitoring are integrated into the front control panel, which includes a water sight glass, pressure gauge, and a low-water indicator light with an automatic cut-off. These features allow staff to monitor the internal steam pressure and jacket water levels at a glance, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow during intense production cycles.

Standard features on the GL-40E focus on operator convenience and fast product removal. The 2" tangent draw-off valve allows for the rapid emptying of soups, sauces, and stocks, while the included TPS-2 perforated strainer prevents solids from clogging the drain. A spring-assisted hinged cover reduces the physical effort required to open the vessel, and a pre-installed faucet bracket simplifies the addition of water.
